This is for all the forever Verde Juice generation. There’s always room for greens, 3 to 4 ingredients and a spice or sweetener of your choice. Keep it real and simple to do without feeling like you need alllll of the things. Let’s get into the vida verde.
Why You Should Try This Recipe
Green juice is for every BODY! It’s beneficial to have favorite go-to juice, it can be orange, green, or even red vampiro juice, but let there be a juice for you.
It doesn’t have to be everyday, but every day you can move in a direction towards consuming more fresh foods. Fresh fruits and vegetables help our bodies.
Juicy Flavor Note From Erika: Many Verde drinks use pineapple as the citrusy sweet ingredient in their green juice recipes. But, I’ve got a sensitivity to juiced pineapple, so I’ve omitted it. It’s all about knowing your body, its preferences, and adapting a modification for your nutritional needs. Experiment with favorites you love.
That’s why jugos (juices) are amazing to try, there is one for every mood, feeling, and taste!
Ingredients
Grocery Quick List: FRESHEST of cucumber, celery stalks, parsley, and optional ginger or citrus available. Ice cube is optional.
- 1/2 large Cucumber washed, spear cut, skin on.
- 4 stalks Celery
- 1/2 bunch Parsley, about 2 ounces.
- 1/2 green Apple
Optional citrus or sweet fruit
- ginger
- lemon or lime
- orange
EQUIPMENT: Juicer or blender, kitchen towel, glass to juice into.
Ingredient Notes / Variations
For refreshing taste, chill ingredients before juicing.
- Apple – Green apple is the sweetener of choice for this recipe. For sweeter flavor add 1/4 apple at a time.
- Apple is tangy and fresh in flavor.
- Juice ratios matter, I keep my all natural fruit sweetening pick (in this case apple) to only 20% of the fruit used in making my juices.
- Cucumber – Fresh cucumber. Find them at local market/bodega in the produce section.
- Select firm for freshest. Store in the refrigerator if not juiced within first two days.
- Purchase what you’ll consume or share with a friend for their healthy juicing intake.
- Celery – Try your best to grab the organic labeled celery, whenever possible.
- A trimmed stalk averages an ounce in weight, so larger stalk from a bunch you may just need two pieces. This is your heads up.
- Celery leaves can also be juiced, so don’t throw it away. Once washed thoroughly, juice them!
- Out of celery? Use a medium nopal (cactus pad).
- Perejil (Parsley) – Fresh is Best. When you spot a beautiful parsley bunch calling you, you buy it. It’s an herb you can make different foods with, aside from juicing.
- Hydrate it for 5 minutes in water if wilted. This will prep it for juicing the oils and nutrients from it.
- Flat leaf italian is preferred, but take either option of parsley available.
OPTIONAL
- Ginger – (optional) can be purchased by the box or by piece. Source it at your local farmers market or supermarket.
- Peeling the ginger is optional. I don’t peel it, I just wash the piece used well.
- 1 square inch only, unless you like muy spicy.
- Confirm consumption of ginger with physician if on special medication. I care for you, please & thank you.

Step-By-Step Instructions
To Make the Verde Juice
- Prep all vegetables for juicing. Wash well and thoroughly, (especially the naturally sweet add-ins).
- Place cup underneath the juicer spout and begin juicing.
- Order I use when juicing: I start with the leafy parsley because its softer followed by all other firm vegetables. Don’t forget the small stuff! The small and mighty piece of ginger always comes in at the end (’tis my cherry on top jugo).
- Let cup sit at base until all juice has been extracted. About a full minute. Let 100% of all the good stuff slip into your juice cup.
- Juice is Ready. Stir to evenly mix and add an ice cube if you prefer it chilled.

Ways to Give your Juice a Spicy kick
When I’m all out of ginger, I’ll use a few extra pieces of celery and add a half jalapeno in single servings.
Tip: Always sample the jalapeno first to measure its heat scale. I’ll use a whole jalapeno for 2-3 serving of this jugo.
Juicer Clean-up
Cleaning the Juicer is one of the tedious task that often turns people off. Yes, I know it can feel like a mission, but you’ll build a flow, especially when you feel good drinking da juice!
Clean it within 20 minutes of juicing to avoid pulp and residue from sticking (which will then make it harder to clean). And compost the pulp if you can, your plants will thank you with blooms.
A good juicer can last a lifetime so long as you are good to it, and your lifestyle plans – you can do it. 🙂
Foods to Eat with Green Juice
Some will have the urge to keep the healthy lifestyle theme going when having juice, this is for maximum absorption purposes.
Others can enjoy a fresh juice with whatever the next meal is on the menu, even the fried stuff! You do you, either way I’m proud of you for incorporating freshness of an all-natural juice any chance you crave.
Pro Tips / Receta Notes
Recipe yield: 8-10 ounces Juice. Enough for 1 person.
Storage: drink fresh, within the first 30 minutes of juicing for most nutrients and best taste. Otherwise, my recommendation is to drink within first 24-hours.

To make fresh Jugo Verde
- Prep all vegetables for juicing. Wash well and thoroughly, especially the sweeter stuff [apple]. Cut portions needed or make from full sizes to double recipe.

- Cleaning your juicer within 20 minutes of juicing helps avoid pulp and residue from sticking (which will then make it harder to clean and sticky).
- Recipe time accounts for prep and juice time, not cleanup. Trust me, you’ll get used to it, and love your new juice ritual.
- NUTRIENT NOTE: Fresh juice carries the highest nutritional value right after juicing but I would encourage taking in vegetables and fruits at whatever opportunity and access available.
