Strawberry-Water-Agua-De-Fresa-recipe

Make this water based strawberry drink with three ingredients and minty-fresh simple garnish.

Our readers love this with homemade snacks like tostadas and sliced veggies with my cilantro jalapeno hummus, or creamy black bean dip.

Why You Should Try This Recipe

No excessive work is required, and you choose how much sweetener you need. Simple, healthy (sans lil sugar), and easy!

Use your fresh strawberries for this sweet and tangy tasting drink when not using them for breakfast or fruit snacking.

Note – small equipment used to make this includes a blender, and if you don’t have one, a smoothie blender will also do the trick in keeping this recipe easy.

Ingredients To Make Strawberry Agua

Grocery Quick List: water, strawberries, sugar. Ice cube optional to serve cold.

Ingredients to make Agua De Fresa, strawberry water. Strawberries, and sugar.
  • 1 lb Strawberries
  • 1/2 Cup sugar
  • 8 Cups water
  • Ice
  • Optional garnish: mint, basil, lemon, orange, lime.

Ingredient Notes / Variations

  • Strawberry – Pick up strawberries from your local strawberry farm, farmers’ market, or grocery store to make this drink. Fresh strawberries are always the first choice when making it.
    • Frozen strawberries may also be used when not in season, but I do recommend you strain the strawberry drink multiple times if making from frozen.
  • Water – fresh, clean filtered water for the best agua frescas only. The great thing about homemade is you decide how you want.
  • Sugar – Cane sugar, palm sugar, or white sugar.
    • Sugar substitutes to make sugar-free drinks can also be used. Sometimes I make it unsweetened and later add agave, honey, or monkfruit to sweeten. Just depends on what you’re feeling like that day. Tip: mix into drink before adding the ice.
  • Garnish is not mandatory, they’re just a little cute treat if that’s the kind of feel you’re going for. It’s ok to be a little fancy, if you’ve got the fresh or dehydrated fruit garnish around, do it up!

Agua Fresca Tip: Add agua mineral for a splash of carbonation in your drink; agua fresa, jamaica, naranja, maracuya, and lime flavors to name a few.

Step-By-Step Instructions
